About the authorPaul VegasShare the loveHave your say Leicester boss Puel: My players deserved this winby Paul Vegas10 months agoSend to a friendShare the loveJamie Vardy produced the winner for Leicester City at Everton on Tuesday.Vardy raced away and finished expertly just before the hour mark after a defensive mistake from Michael Keane presented him with some room to run in behind the Everton back line.Afterwards, Foxes boss Claude Puel said: “I think we had a disappointment after the game against Cardiff. “It was important to have the right reaction in this situation. I am happy, of course, about my players and about their work and togetherness today.“They gave their best, it was the same thing against Cardiff. I think against Cardiff, we lacked a little more freshness to have the efficiency and precision in their play – good pass, good touches, good control and good moves, all these things.“It was difficult also for Everton to find a solution against us because we defended very well, deep, with togetherness and quality.“After, I think it was difficult after our recovery to have good moves and it was important in the second half to try and use some good opportunities when we recovered the ball.“We tried to score. With the ball recovery and a good assist from Ricky (Ricardo Pereira), he gave a good ball with good timing and space for Jamie [Vardy]. We know the quality of Jamie in this situation.”

As quarterback from 2011-2013, he threw for 5,295 yards, 52 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions. He rushed for 3,315 yards and 33 touchdowns, including 1,000 yard seasons on the ground in 2012 and 2013. As a receiver in 2015, Miller caught 25 passes for 340 yards and three touchdowns. While his numbers at receiver won’t blow anyone away, it was his first year playing the position, and the team dealt with issues at quarterback, as J.T. Barrett did not win the job back from the up-and-down Cardale Jones until midway through the year. Even so, Miller showed enough to be a third round pick by the Houston Texans, where he now plays alongside superstar DeAndre Hopkins and promising receivers like Jaelen Strong and Will Fuller.
Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva says the ongoing uncertainty surrounding star man Neymar was no excuse for their performance as they were deservedly beaten 2-1 at Rennes on Sunday night. After initially leading through Edinson Cavani, the Ligue 1 champions were pegged back on the stroke of half-time by M’Baye Niang before Romain Del Castillo headed in a superb winner shortly after the break.Speaking on Canal+ after the game, Silva was asked if the transfer speculation around his Brazilian compatriot had affected the side as they slumped to a surprise defeat. Dream night in Genk for Liverpool ace after injury nightmare Messi a man for all Champions League seasons – but will this really be Barcelona’s? “It’s hard, right?” he said. “For everyone, the club, and for us, the players. But that isn’t an excuse. It isn’t because of that that we’ve been less focused tonight. Ney wasn’t here and we have to concentrate on ourselves, and about all we need to do this season. It’s a shame to lose in the second game of the season.“It was a difficult match. We started well, we opened the scoring but then we relaxed a bit, and I don’t know why we lost our concentration.“It was a shame to concede at the end of the first half, and then at the beginning of the second half we concede a goal that we wouldn’t usually concede. We are going to lift our heads up, think about the next game and try to improve, because today it wasn’t the PSG we know.”He added: “We worked well, but this is only the beginning of the season. This is not an excuse, because Rennes played well. They were solid and more attentive. I do not know exactly what happened. It will be better in the next matches.’Manager Thomas Tuchel had similar thoughts about his side’s display, after watching a lethargic performance. Though PSG saw more of the ball than their opponents, they created fewer shooting opportunities and never managed to pose a consistent threat to Rennes’ lead. But, with Neymar’s move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid thought to be moving closer to a conclusion at last, Tuchel wasn’t able to offer any update on the transfer.Next up for PSG is a clash with Toulouse next Sunday in the club’s third match of the Ligue 1 campaign.PSG topped Nimes 3-0 in the club’s opener behind goals from Cavani, Kylian Mbappe and Angel di Maria. The champions currently sit eighth in Ligue 1 with Lyon, Nice and Rennes currently tied atop the table with six points from two matches.
NASHVILLE, TN – SEPTEMBER 17: A general view of the game between the Vanderbilt Commodores and the Ole Miss Rebels at Vanderbilt Stadium on September 17, 2011 in Nashville, Tennessee. (Photo by Grant Halverson/Getty Images)There’s a major upset brewing in the SEC today as Vanderbilt holds a healthy lead late in the first half against Florida. The Gators entered this game on a high from the team’s huge win over LSU last weekend. In a classic hangover game, Florida trails 21-3 and the team has looked very shaky on both sides of the ball for the duration of the game. Quarterback Feleipe Franks already has several turnovers on the day, the latest of which is easily the wackiest play of the day.Franks attempted to scramble, but lost the ball. What ensued was crazy.Several Vanderbilt players attempted to corral the ball, but each failed – which only helped the team gain field position. (Photo by Mike Comer/Getty Images)Three schools have been named the favorites for Clemson quarterback transfer Kelly Bryant, who announced earlier this season his decision to leave the Tigers’ program.Bryant, who’s received interest from several major programs, has already taken a bunch of transfer visits.Three schools appear to be standing out, though. From 247Sports:With one official left, Miami is out. Auburn is back in.According to a source close to Bryant, he will officially visit the Tigers sometime next week (the date is to be determine). He then plans to announce his transfer plans Dec. 4.Why the change? We can’t answer that, but it certaily signals that Auburn is a top contender. According to our intel, Auburn, Missouri and North Carolina might be the three teams to watch but Mississippi State, which Bryant officially visited over the weekend should not be counted out. “He had a great visit to Mississippi State,” a source told 247Sports.Multiple insiders believe that Mississippi State could be the real favorite here, but Arkansas has also been highly thought of, as Bryant has a good relationship with the coaching staff.Stay tuned.
