Amanda Brooks, Al Wilson Join Southland Staff

first_img#SouthlandStrong FRISCO, Texas – The Southland Conference has added Amanda Brooks and Al Wilson to its staff, league commissioner Tom Burnett announced Monday.Brooks is the new Business Operations Assistant and will be involved with the Conference’s financial management including budgeting, purchasing, accounts payable, payroll services and payment for officiating services. She will also be directly involved with ordering and sales of merchandise at Conference championship events. A native of Rockwall, Texas, Brooks earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas and is currently pursuing her MBA from the University of North Texas. Prior to coming to Frisco, she spent two years at UTSA serving in the business office and as Assistant to the Athletics Director.Wilson joins the Southland as the Championships and Marketing Assistant. He is a 2019 graduate of Conference member Nicholls State University, where he was a three-year letterman as a lineman on the Colonel football team. He served as president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) and was the managing editor for Garde Voir Ci magazine his senior year. Wilson also founded the Student-Athlete Institute of Leadership (SAIL) to help hone leadership and teamwork skills among his peers. A mass communication major with a concentration in journalism and a minor in creative writing, he was a student assistant in the Nicholls’ Sports Information Department. Wilson is originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.“We are very pleased to add Amanda and Al to the Southland staff,” Burnett said. “Both already have outstanding records as young professionals, and we look forward to their contributions to the conference.”last_img
