Amazon Kindle Fire HD 2 specs reportedly revealed
If you tried to nab a new Nexus 7 over the weekend and live in certain heavily populated tech-focused areas like New York, or attempted to take advantage of Staples’ great discount, you’ll have been met with disappointment, as the tablet sold out more quickly than it took a certain blogger to drive to the nearest Best Buy to purchase one. Now, just a few days after the tablet’s (early) release, the full specs for Amazon’s new Kindle Fire HD have been revealed.Every tablet is a competitor with every other one, but broken down further you can say the competition is separated into screen size. Broken down even further, you can say tablet competition lies within price range. The 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD has a slightly bigger screen than the Nexus 7 and a slightly higher price, but you could view the two as competitors given the less-than-10-inch screen-size and under $300 price tag. If you adhere to this competition bracket ideology, then the new Kindle Fire HD specs were revealed right on time.Amazon will be refreshing the two new 7-inch and 8.9-inch models. The 7-inch model will feature 2GB of RAM, WiFi and data connectivity, a front-facing camera, a high-res 1920×1200 display, and 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB of storage space. The processor, which is arguably too fancy for the Fire HD, will be a Snapdragon 800. The 8.9-inch model will feature a 2560×1600 display, and an 8-megapixel rear camera, but everything else is reported to be the same as its smaller sister. The tablets are said to debut sometime during the fall of this year. The specs and release window come from BGR sources, so it’s entirely possible that either something changes before the official launch, they’re completely wrong, or both! Stay tuned.
