first_imgAbout the authorPaul VegasShare the loveHave your say Leicester boss Puel: My players deserved this winby Paul Vegas10 months agoSend to a friendShare the loveJamie Vardy produced the winner for Leicester City at Everton on Tuesday.Vardy raced away and finished expertly just before the hour mark after a defensive mistake from Michael Keane presented him with some room to run in behind the Everton back line.Afterwards, Foxes boss Claude Puel said: “I think we had a disappointment after the game against Cardiff. “It was important to have the right reaction in this situation. I am happy, of course, about my players and about their work and togetherness today.“They gave their best, it was the same thing against Cardiff. I think against Cardiff, we lacked a little more freshness to have the efficiency and precision in their play – good pass, good touches, good control and good moves, all these things.“It was difficult also for Everton to find a solution against us because we defended very well, deep, with togetherness and quality.“After, I think it was difficult after our recovery to have good moves and it was important in the second half to try and use some good opportunities when we recovered the ball.“We tried to score. With the ball recovery and a good assist from Ricky (Ricardo Pereira), he gave a good ball with good timing and space for Jamie [Vardy]. We know the quality of Jamie in this situation.” last_img read more

Russell is currently projected to be among those top five picks.Multiple reports emerged Friday morning saying Jackson’s comments could have violated NBA rules. League rules state that team front office’s are prohibited from discussing players who are not draft eligible.Being fined for tampering is not foreign to Jackson. In June, he was fined $25,000 by the NBA for his comments about then-Oklahoma City Thunder guard Derek Fisher as potential candidate for the Knicks’ head coaching vacancy. Fisher was later hired as New York’s coach.Following the conclusion of Ohio State’s season, Russell will have until April 26 to decide whether or not he will enter the NBA Draft.Russell and the Buckeyes are scheduled to return to the court Sunday against Purdue at 7:30 p.m at the Schottenstein Center.Phil Jackson tells @DougLesmerises that Ohio State PG D’Angelo Russell is “a great looking kid with a great future.” pic.twitter.com/bB1oO0pEIT— Lantern TV (@LanternTV) February 27, 2015 read more

25yearold man charged in the 2017 death of Camp Pendleton Marine Corporal

first_img March 2, 2018 KUSI Newsroom Categories: Local San Diego News FacebookTwitter Posted: March 2, 2018 KUSI Newsroom, 25-year-old man charged in the 2017 death of Camp Pendleton Marine Corporal SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – A 25-year-old man is being charged in the death of a 25-year-old Marine Corporal found unresponsive on the floor in his Camp Pendleton barracks on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017.The Marine Corporal was lying next to his computer chair, still wearing headphones. He appeared to have been playing video games. Paramedics were unable to revive him. What followed was an autopsy report that determined the cause of death to be fentanyl toxicity, and a death investigation that has resulted in federal charges against the alleged dealer, 25-year-old Kyle Anthony Shephard of San Marcos. In a complaint unsealed Friday, Shephard is charged with Distribution of Fentanyl Resulting in the Death of the Marine, identified in court documents only as Corporal M.C., 1st Marine Division. Shephard was arraigned before U.S. Magistrate Judge, Mitchell D. Dembin today at 2:00 p.m. He is scheduled to appear for a detention hearing on Tuesday, March 6 at 1:30 p.m. before the Hon. Mitchell D. Dembin. The last known contacts with Corporal M.C. occurred late Friday night, Jan. 26, 2017, two days before his death, and shortly after midnight on Saturday morning. A forensic examination of Corporal M.C.’s computer showed his last computer activity taking place at 1:44 a.m. on January 28, 2017.On Feb. 1, 2017, an autopsy was conducted at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. The toxicology screen was positive for fentanyl. Colonel Ladd Tremaine, M.D., Medical Corps, U.S. Army, Armed Forces Medical Examiner, determined that Corporal M.C. died of opioid toxicity caused by a fentanyl overdose. On April 28, 2017 a forensic chemist with the Defense Forensic Science Center, reported that a blue pill seized from Corporal M.C.’s barracks room tested positive for fentanyl. The pill was discovered on the headboard next to a powdery substance and a rolled up dollar bill.A complaint alleges that Shephard distributed the fentanyl pills to Corporal M.C. which caused his death. Text messages obtained from Corporal M.C.’s phone revealed he was first introduced to Shephard in November 2016. During the next three months – November – December 2016 and January 2017 – they arranged numerous sales of fentanyl and other drugs. Their conversations included Shephard acknowledging that the pills could lead to an overdose.Their drug-based relationship culminated on Friday January 27, 2017, when Shephard sold four fentanyl pills to Corporal M.C. for one hundred dollars. The contents of that text message are included below:Corporal M.C. – 6:14 PM – Yo whats good bro.Shephard – 6:15 PM – What’s good?Corporal M.C. – 6:17 PM – Can u meet up in a lil bit?Shephard – 6:20 PM – Yes come to escoCorporal M.C. – 6:21 PM – Do u have the fetanyl ones or the other onesShephard – 6:22 PM – I have both but new fet prices are 25 the others are 20 I lost a Plug and had my prices raised significantly with the fet onesCorporal M.C. – 6:34 PM – Any dealsCorporal M.C. – 6:41 PM – And where do u wanna meetShephard – 6:41 PM – If you get quite a bitCorporal M.C. – 6:44 PM – Kk ill take 4 for a hundoCorporal M.C. – 6:53 PM – Im omwShephard – 6:57 PM – FashoCorporal M.C. – 7:25 PM – Where we meetingShephard – 7:28 PM – My housrCorporal M.C. – 7:34 PM – Im in hereShephard – 7:36 PM – Me tooCorporal M.C. – 7:36 PM – Im near the address 336An investigation of Shephard’s ongoing criminal activity found that on December 12, 2017, Shephard and a female associate were arrested and charged by the San Diego District Attorney’s Office with distribution of a controlled substance. Law enforcement officers involved in the arrest of Shephard said the controlled substance Shephard was charged with possessing for distribution was approximately 2,000 fentanyl-laced pills.“What a senseless tragedy that another young life has been lost because of fentanyl,” said U.S. Attorney Adam Braverman. “This Marine was serving his country and had his whole life ahead of him. We are going to hold dealers accountable for the deaths that result from their reckless disregard for human life.”“NCIS and other law enforcement agencies must do whatever we can to address the nation’s ongoing opioid crisis by going after those who are dealing death. Busting a dealer tied to the death of a U.S. Marine will hopefully save the lives of other service members,” said NCIS Pendleton Field Office Special Agent in Charge Todd Battaglia. In another recent case being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, alleged heroin distributor Max Gaffney was arrested in January 2018 and charged with Distribution of Heroin Resulting in Death. While final numbers have not been released, preliminary estimates reflect that deaths caused by fentanyl analogs doubled in San Diego County in 2017 over 2016. last_img read more

Black Panther composer to score Star Wars series The Mandalorian

Black Panther Marvel Target Disney Star Wars,I’m shocked — shocked! — to learn that stores are turning Labor Day into an excuse to sell stuff. Wait — no, I’m not. As much as I respect the original intent of the holiday (which became official back in 1894), to most of us, it’s just a bonus day off — one that’s blissfully tacked onto a weekend. So, yeah, stores; go ahead, run your sales. I’m listening. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Labor Day doesn’t bring out bargains to compete with the likes of Black Friday (which will be here before you know it), but there are definitely some sales worth your time. For example:We’ve rounded up the best Labor Day mattress deals. We’ve also gathered the best Labor Day laptop deals at Best Buy.The 2019 Vizio P Series Quantum is back under $999.Be sure to check out Amazon’s roughly three dozen Labor Day deals on TVs and audio. ISRO hailed for detecting Chandrayaan2 glitch on time

first_imgThe launch of Chandrayaan-2 launch was called off due technical snag on July 15, 2019.IANS/ISROWith India postponing the Chandrayaan-2 launch owing to a technical snag in the ‘Bahubali’ rocket about an hour before it was to take off on Monday morning, people on social media said it is better late than never. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) called off the launch of Chandrayaan-2 that would send an orbiter, lander and rover to explore the Moon’s South Pole, saying a technical snag was observed in launch vehicle system and revised launch date would be announced later.”Happy that the snag was recognised well in time… It can all be fixed on Earth… Post Lift Off… it’s not possible… Hopefully the revised launched date will be soon… Awaiting,” a user tweeted.”Safety and Precaution before a mishap is important,” tweeted another. The Rs 978 crore Chandrayaan-2 mission is aimed to make India the fourth nation in the world to land and ride on the lunar surface. The other three nations that had achieved this feat are Russia, the US and China.”It seems space enthusiasts may have to hold on to their excitement for weeks, if not months, till @isro is able to fix the technical glitch and is ready with the next launch window,” said one user.”So what? Tiger always takes 2 steps back before leaping towards prey successfully… We wait for you!! Good luck!!! Make us proud again and again…” posted a user.Chandrayaan-2 will attempt to soft land the lander, Vikram, and rover, Pragyan, in a high plain between two craters, Manzinus C and Simpelius N, at a latitude of about 70 degrees south. The 3.8-tonne complex mission will have an orbiter with 8 scientific experiments, a lander with three experiments, a rover with two experiments and one passive experiment from the US space agency NASA.”That’s the main reason for the success of @isro because they count, calculate and observe every minute of their mission. So that mission can complete in one attempt. Many congratulations for detecting the defect during #Chandrayaan2 which say many things in itself,” posted another user on Twitter.last_img read more

Allen is charged with acting with criminal negligence by allowing the underaged women to drink.36-year-old Shayla Joseph and her three-month-old son Braylan Joseph were killed in that crash.District Attorney Kim Ogg said the charges come as part of a new initiative to stem the county’s high drunk driving rates. According to TxDOT’s figures, 159 people were killed in drunk driving crashes in Harris County in 2016.“We are ground zero for alcohol related car crashes and deaths in the United States,” said Ogg. “We really couldn’t do worse as our current record.”To try to stem those high numbers, Ogg explained they’re now investigating where a drunk driver obtained alcohol before causing a fatal wreck.“We track the source of the alcohol to a specific person and place and that’s what this investigation represents, that’s exactly what we’ve done,” said Ogg.Ogg added that the bars themselves could also face administrative penalties from the County Attorney and the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission if they’re found to have served someone prior to a fatal crash.
