The tour also visits Kochi and the backwaters with Kettuvalum as an optional stay for one night in Kumarakom. Some of the tour’s highlights include the Tipu Sultan’s Palace, Zampa Vineyards and Rudraksha Farm Theatre in Bangalore; a stay at Orange County Resorts Kabini, listed in National Geographic Traveller’s Top 25 World’s Best Eco Lodges; and a Scenic Enrich dinner in Mysore where guests will dine with the relations of the royal family. For those wanting to explore more of spiritual Southern India, they can combine the 14 Day Southern India Discovery plus the 13 Day Colours of South India for a 26 Day South India Odyssey. The 26 Day Grand Discovery of India combines two existing tours – Colours of North India joined with Southern India Discovery, and travels from the ‘golden triangle’ of Delhi, Agra and Jaipur in the north down to Kochi in the country’s south. Highlights include a visit to the Taj Mahal; a game drive in Ranthambore National Park – home to the elusive Bengal tiger; Bylekuppe Monastery which is the largest Tibetan population outside of Tibet; and a cruise along the spectacular Kerala Backwaters.Adam Burke, Journey Designer Asia, commented: “We wanted to give more variety to what we do in all of our tours, through our Freechoice and Freechoice Dining programs and also by showcasing areas of India which we have not been to before. And to help encourage second time travellers back to India we now offer more touring options. We have focused on handcrafting new and ‘wow’ Scenic Enrich experiences which include some elements that cannot be done by regular tourists.”The 2016/2017 program sees the launch of a number of new Enrich experiences including traditional Indian wrestling at an akahara (wrestling ring) in Varanasi; high tea in the residence of the royal family of Jaipur; an exclusive champagne evening walking tour of the Mehrangarh Fort; jeep safari into the desert or camel cart sunset trek across the dunes in Jodhpur; and a Royal Gala Dinner of authentic Rajasthani cuisine at the Samode Palace. There are also two new extensions – a 4 day Mumbai city stay and a 4 day Ajanta and Ellora Caves Discovery which takes in the World Heritage-listed caves situated close to Aurangabad.Scenic is offering fantastic Earlybird offers on bookings made by 31 March 2016.
